Treadmill Hill Workout: Interval Workout with Hills

This is a workout that involve hill walking/running at different inclines and speeds.
First of all you should pick the interval duration. They can be between 30 seconds and 10 minutes but the shorter the interval the tougher it should be. In consequence, a one-minute interval should have you let you out of breath after only one minute.
The workouts consist in several though intervals that will bring you to a high level of exertion followed by a recover period.

Most of the newest treadmills have interval programs and during these workouts the treadmill automatically changes the speed or the incline. If you don’t have this option the manual manipulation will do the trick.
You should repeat these though intervals followed by the recover periods for 3 to 10 times (in the end it depends of the length of the workout and your fitness level) and don’t forget to warm up and cool down before and after training.

1. Warm up for 5 minutes at an easy pace.
2. Choose a pace and incline that brings your heart rate to 85-92% of your max heart rate.
3.Walk at the 85-92% of maximum heart rate for 8 minutes.
4. Slow/reduce incline to an easy level for 2 minutes.
5.Repeat for 3-4 repetitions.
