This is a real issue. Most of the people leave in apartments that are not on ground level and have downstairs neighbors that may very disturbed by the noise and vibrations produced by your treadmill workouts.

One of the first solutions is to talk to your neighbors and find what their daily schedule is. You can train while they are not at home. Also if the have a room they don’t use you can move the treadmill over that room.

Next you can go to the fitness stores and buy a thick, rubber mat. Put that under your treadmill and this should considerably decrease the vibration. You can also try with a standing mat covered by plywood. Anyway the idea is to use the absorbance and elasticity of a mat to reduce the vibrations and noise.

A different approach is to change your workouts. It may not be the solution you are looking for but it could work. For example if you are running you could switch to walking but with a very high inline. This will use the body as much as a running session.

These are pretty much the solution we have for you. If you solved this issue in a different matter leave a comment to this post so the others can read it.

In the end if you come to read this post it means that you are trying to solve a situation and continue your training. Is good that you didn’t use this as a excuse and quit. You are on the right way :)
